Monthly Demonstrations

Everyone is welcome to join us at our monthly demonstrations.
These are held at Bridlington North Library, YO16 6YD, on the 1st Friday of each month (except August) from 7pm to 9pm. Refreshments and parking (incl. disabled parking and access) are available.

As guests/ non-members you can come to two taster nights for £5 per night (refundable on full membership). These are sometimes followed by a themed Weekend Workshop (fees apply).

Weekend Workshops

The Weekend Workshops are on a Saturday, and are led by the person who did the Friday night demonstration. They are normally a full day and we recommend you bring your lunch and snacks. They are held in either the Sewerby, Priory, or Emmanuel Church Rooms.

These are for members only. Booking is required and fees apply (usually at a great rate!).

Delia Prudence is largely self-taught, exploring and experimenting with techniques that allow her to capture the detail and natural beauty she sees in the world around her. Delia works mainly in watercolour and coloured pencil, mediums that let me create depth, delicacy, and fine detail. Please join us for a night on insight.

April 11th 2026 – WEEKEND WORKSHOP

Come along and learn all about Phil White’s sketching techniques, which will be a great foundation for your art.

AGM – Nominate committee members or put yourself forward, find out what is in store for your society, and pay your membership. An external adjudicator will view our members’ artwork, and the winner will be on the society membership card!

June 5th 2026

Cath Inglis specialises in portraiture, as well as a wide variety of other subjects, and works predominantly in soft pastels. Catherine has used Unison Colour pastels for over 30 years, and will be with us for a pastel demo.

June 6th 2026 WEEKEND WORKSHOP

In addition to the Friday night demo, Cath Inglis is doing a whole day’s workshop on using pastels! Cath uses high-quality soft pastels (Unison Colour), hand made in Northumberland and using only natural pigments.

August 7th 2026

A plein air (outdoor) session is planned for this day (weather permitting), which will be held around Bridlington Priory, and followed by a social in a nearby pub/eatery.

Julia Borodina is with us again, and is going to demonstrate her use of acrylics. You are guaranteed energy and insight on this night.

September 5th 2026 – WEEKEND WORKSHOP
